Share and Care Foundation’s 25 years of existence can be attributed to your kind generosity.  With your dedicated support, we have made a small contribution to our mother country, in reducing poverty and increase in standard of living of many individuals.

In January, at our “Connecting Hearts over Horizons” NGO conference over 35 NGOs and 100 individuals, came together and a strong undercurrent of satisfaction among the donors and social workers was evident.  Each one of the individual present has made a personal contribution to the wellbeing of our fellow human beings. 

As we march forward, our focus is going to be in the areas of Youth Development and Women Empowerment.  With respect to Youth Development, we intend to concentrate in the areas of providing “Excellence in Education”.  With the help of NGOs in India, we will provide supplemental education, awareness programs, teachers training and training in other areas, so that the coming generation of the young India has knowledge of Indian culture and heritage.

We are starting this program, in villages near Rajkot and Bhavnagar, with three NGOs in over 100 schools, which cater to over 25,000 students.  In second phase, we will be expanding this program to other villages in India with the help of several other NGOs. In 2008, our goal is to cover over 100,000 students.

Our efforts in the area of Women Empowerment are progressing with programs of micro-loans, which provide seed capital to women, to start a small business and thereby earn a decent living for their family.

We appeal to you for your generous support, so that we can expand our work and continue to improve the lives of many more of children and women, by providing supplemental education and training.

Why does an organization decide to have a new logo?

It is by no means a simple process, so it had better be worth doing. Share and Care decided to develop a new logo, after 25 years of using the same thematic graphic, because we wanted to acknowledge our quarter of a century of progress in aid of India.

The rose that will always be the centerpiece of the Share and Care logo symbolizes a heartfelt gift. Just as flowers are offered to deities in India as a gesture of commitment and higher affinity, so a rose, the most delicate and sweet smelling bloom in many gardens, can be seen to be the essence of personal giving and profound charitable instinct. The ‘updated’ rose is not literally conventional. Instead, it is a subtle abstraction of a hand and a flower, intertwined.

We believe that new abstract graphics still evokes the same deep emotion. It depicts various forms to different audience. Some even said it reminds them of a mother holding a child; such a reaction is most gratifying of all.
